Halo 3 - Game Review

The long wait for XBox gamers is finally over. The much anticipated third part of the sci-fi saga by Bungie is finally here. Welcome to the third episode of Halo, the epic conclusion to a story that ended abruptly three years ago. Microsoft is banking on the game to be a huge hit among the XBox fanbase, and considering the quality of gameplay, it just might be right. Reports suggest that Halo 3 is not only the best game of the series, it is the best XBox 360 game ever to hit the market shelves. The game is excellent, to say the least and ends the story in a proper fashion, not to forget the superb multiplayer feature that will ensure that the game stands the test of time, and like old wine, will only get better with age. However, for now, let's take a look at the story.

The second part ended with Master Chief heading to finish the fight against the covenant aboard a Forerunner ship headed towards earth, while Cortana remained in the clutches of the evil Gravemind. The Covenant occupation on planet Earth has revealed a massive and ancient object under the sands of Africa, the secrets of which are yet to be found out. Forces of the Earth are battered and beaten, and acivil war is raging in the heart of the Covenant. Is this how the world ends, maybe not, if you can help it. To reveal the rest of the storyline would be to spoil your tastes, hence let's keep that a secret.

On the whole, gameplay is unique as it has always been on the previous versions of Halo. There have been a few fundamental changes, but it would not be long for the player to adjust to them, for instance, it takes a while to reload after you hit the X button. Overall, Bungie has delievered another winner, and it won't be long before it stands out as one of the bestsellers in games of all times.
