You wake up in the morning to the vibrating beep of your digital clock, brush your teeth with an electric toothbrush, shave with an automatic razor and have your breakfast cooked in a microwave oven. You see your PDA and realise that there are 5 unread mails for you, there are reciepts of bills paid online and you have just recieved that iPod you ordered over the internet a couple of weeks back. Welcome to life in the fast lane. This might be an average day for most of us, but few stop to take a look at the impact of technology on our day to day lives. All this would have seemed to be a distant dream for many a few years back, but with the advent of technological innnovations, it has transformed into reality now. Mobile phones, the biggest invention of the decade, are still being improved upon. To better something that is already the best; that is the challenge we seem to have taken up in these recent years. What else can justify the need of a camera or an MP3 player in a device that has already shrunk the world into the palm of your hands. Technology has provided us with some of the coolest gadgets to play around with. iPods, camcorders, highdefinition cameras, GPS devices and accessories are just some of the inventions that have improved and facilitated our lives to a great extent. But as they say, there are still many more miles to go before we can rest. Who knows what the future might have in store for us? but for now, one can just sit back and enjoy. And as the catchphrase of an electronic manufacturing giant says, Life's good, at least for the time being.
