Windows Vista laptops: Technology for clarity and confidence

Just when you start thinking it couldn't possibly get any better, the experts sitting in technology centres across the globe present you with yet another interface that is more appealing and more efficient. Such is the case with Microsoft- after launching Windows XP that fulfilled loads of user requirements, they have launched the Windows Vista operating system. Grandly regarded as the ultimate viewing and organizing experience, this system has clearly gone above and beyond the expectations of Windows fans at large.

Windows Vista facilitates an experience that allows using visual symmetry and categorisation to access and organise data. It gives the power to manage window panes more confidently through desktop composition. This colorful and graphical interface, full of 3D animations, transitions, and customisations, makes managing data more efficient. Better sorting facilities allow the user to literally stack up files and organize them by date, author, type or keywords. The graphical representation of files within folders in the thumbnail view is excellent for quick identification.

Since the new operating system is so rich in its graphical interface, it has higher hardware and software requirements than usual. Although different versions of the system are available such as Vista Basic, Business, Premium and Ultimate, its minimum requirements can be supported only in recent computers. For the ultimate touch- sensitive, graphic experience, laptops with a Tablet PC are ideal. For the basic edition, 512 MB memory can suffice, although Mirosoft recommends 1 GB for the higher versions. Minimum 15 GB of free hard drive space and a processor of 1 GHz is absolutely essential. Though the system requirements are more, you may still be able to get cheap laptops, which have the necessary specifications to support the Vista interface, through online websites. Microsoft has also marked certain computers with the Vista logo to denote compatibility.

New editions in Toshiba Satellite A- series, Sony VAIO series, the latest range of Acer Ferrari, and higher versions of HP Pavilion are good options if you are looking for laptops which support this operating system. Although purchasing the new and high- end products can be expensive, if you take advantage of the festive season offers and discounts, you may be able to find cheap laptops that are compatible with the new interface and also high in specifications. Make sure you look for Vista compatible logo when considering these purchases. Rest assured, Windows vista will not leave you disappointed in visual charm, user interaction or its organisational abilities.
